If your mouse is frozen, there are four situations that will help you to troubleshoot this problem on your own. Most mouse problems can be solved in one of these steps.
- Try is unplugging it from the back of your computer and then plugging it back in.
- If your mouse is wireless – make sure the batteries are not dead.
- Also, if the mouse is wireless – make sure that the receiver (a USB-based device) is plugged in and that it is as close to the mouse as is possible.
- Try a different mouse – this will tell you whether or not the problem is with your individual mouse or part of a larger problem with your computer hardware/software.
